If you are ever stuck for an idea for a dessert and want something that is absolutely foolproof and can mould to any fruit you have-try this simple crumble recipe.
you can use just about any fruit that will stew well, in these examples we’ve used homegrown figs + apples.
Ingredients (fig and apple crumble)
2 apples chopped
2 cups fresh figs cut into four.
3 tbsp pear cider syrup ( or equivelant brown sugar)
juice of one lemon
1. Bring the syrup (or sugar) to a low heat and add the fruit and a dash of water. Cook slowly until just tender (depending on the fruit).
2. Add the lemon juice and allow to cool
crumble mix
1/2 cup wholemeal flour
1/2 cup brown sugar
3/4 cup oats
90g unsalted butter
1. Combine all of the crumble ingredients in a bowl and mix well with your hands until it becomes like breadcrumbs.

To build the crumbles
1.. Fill ramekins or a baking dish with the fruit mix and cover with the crumble.
5. Bake in a 180 degree oven for 15 minutes.
Serve immediately with Chantilly cream (1 tsp sugar 1/2 tsp vanilla per 100ml of cream)
