There are two things wrong with the title of this post: It was neither winter or evening. BUT it was super manly… well not really but it was great to see the fellas after three months away in the US.
The menu was a little simpler than most Man Nights and primarily made use of the woodfired oven at my parents home.
What a way to spend a Sunday afternoon
Course 1: Coffin Bay oyster warmed, with nasturtium oil and lardo.
Course 2: Moreton Bay bug roasted cowboy style with truffle butter
Course 3: Wood roasted abalone with truffle and Puccini mushroom
Course 4: Maltagliata with smoked wild rabbit ragu and truffle.
Course 5: Pork belly with pipis, pureed swede and charred raddicio
Course 5.5: we had leftover clams so made clams casino
Course 6: Slow fired roasted goat shoulder with pickled roasted peppers. We just served the shoulder whole and the fellas pretty much picked it clean.
Course 7: chocolate stout souffle
