There are always those text messages that are etched into your mind for the rest of your life such as Year 12 ENTER results, “It’s a girl”, “Hey man, the new Schwarzenneger film is out” and yesterday morning “Hey Chuckie, truffle dinner tonight you in?”. It’s those kind of truffle related texts from Simon at Punt Road Wines that makes my heart jump. I was lucky enough to score some tickets to the Melbourne Fringe Food Festival truffle degustation at Eleonore’s Restaurant-Château Yering with wines matched by Punt Road, Ciders by Napoleone & Co and truffles from Yarra Valley Truffles. The food, as always was stunning and the matched wines and cider by Kate Goodman worked in perfect harmony with Matt Macartneys wonderful menu. it was also great to sit with Stuart from Yarra Valley Truffles and talk all things truffle including learning about his new Truffière in the Yarra Valley.
